We’ve been getting a great many compliments on the evocative cover design for POLLY.  The raven image is by National Geographic photographer Mark Moritsch.  I’ve been using the photo as my FB avatar ever since I started writing about Polly’s adventures.

Designer Diego Melendez worked with the image to create a more somber feel.  Green Writers Press founder and book designer Dede Cummings has used the raven silhouette in the book’s interior, too.  A wonderfully creative team.

A day for celebration.  Advanced review copies (ARCs) of POLLY have arrived.

It’s gratifying at last to have physical books in hand–and to have some to send out for first responses.  The novel has been in the works for some seven years.  It’s been through more than 30 drafts.  The help I have received along the way from a handful of astute and careful readers has been extremely valuable in guiding me through the complex development of character and story.  Now it’s on its own.

POLLY AND THE ONE AND ONLY WORLD will launch on Saturday, October 4, at the Brattleboro Literary Festival. Bookstore events are in the works at the Northshire in Manchester (and the store in Saratoga Springs), the Galaxy in Hardwick, Green Mountain Books in Lyndonville, and more.

As reviews come in and as more events are scheduled, I’ll be posting word here.
